How Did You First Get into Cooking and Why?

I was introduced to food by my grandmother in Thailand.  I was a bit of a wild child, so my mother would send me to live with my grandmother during summertime to get a break from me.  And she is the person who taught me how to cook.  That is the time I became interested in food and cooking.  Then my family opened a restaurant that served Thai Street Food, and I worked there as a teenager.

Who Influenced your cooking style?

1. My grandmother from Loburi Thailand.

2. And a chef named Art Prasopchok.  He is currently a famous chef in Thailand.  I worked with him in Seattle Washington for about 5 years.  We collaborated on dishes as he brought a modern influence and I brought a traditional influence to Thai dishes.
